To all our Veterans:

Happy Veterans Day!
And thank you for your service!

Sad to report that Charley Chapman passed away on December 24, 2021

He will be sadly missed.

Season’s Greetings!

Thank you for your survey responses!

Option # 1 – “A catered picnic on Saturday and a Sunday Brunch” received the most classmate votes.

We are happy to report that the reunion committee has secured venues for our 50th Reunion on Sept. 24 & 25th, 2022.

- Blueberry Hill Park (where we had our 45th reunion picnic) recently completed a new Activity Center building with modern conveniences for community functions. We will have the use of the Activity Center on Saturday Sept. 24, 2022 for 7 hrs! (Likely 1PM till 8PM – TBD). A buffet style catered dinner (not picnic food) will be included.

We envision Saturday to be a relaxing, fun classmate social event with plenty of time to visit, reminisce and even enjoy the park!

- On Sunday Sept 25, 2022 a mid-day buffet brunch is planned at Sewickley Heights Golf Club. This is a very nice facility and certainly will add a little ‘class’ to our 50th reunion experience!

The brunch will wrap-up our official reunion weekend, BUT…

For those of you that might like to hang around for Monday the 26th, the inaugural Susan Harger Memorial Scholarship Golf Outing at Sewickley Heights Golf Club, to benefit the Quaker Valley Music Department (Band and Chorus) is an event you might enjoy! (Remember our “Grazing In The Grass”? Outstanding!)

Golf on the 26th will be a "Captain and Crew" style event seeking 72 intrepid "duffers" for a day of fun and fund-raising to honor our own QVHS Band president “Susie”, sadly lost to cancer in 2020.

Lovers of the QVHS Band and Chorus are invited to join in on what will hopefully become an annual event.

For more info on the golf outing, please contact Rick Santry at

Happy Hanukkah, Kwanzaa blessings and Merry Christmas to all,

And a Peaceful and Happy New Year!

We extend our sympathy to the family and friends of John Yukevich who passed away on December 16, 2021.

Greetings classmates!

The 50th Reunion committee is requesting donations to cover a venue downpayment and other necessary planning expenses. The Class has established a secure PayPal account to reduce the chance of donations being lost in the mail.

If you prefer to donate by check, make the check payable to QV Class of '72 and mail to either;

Tom Gerle - 186 S. McCoy Place - Sewickley, PA 15143

Jean Kestner - 8195 Ohio River Blvd. - Pittsburgh, PA 15202

Please understand your donation is a gift to our Class and is not a ticket pre-payment.

We hope you understand the need and are willing and able to help finance our 50th (final?) reunion. Thank you all!

(please let us know if you have any problem using the PayPal link.)

Believe it or not... Planning for our 2022 - 50th reunion has commenced!

Please help us efficiently communicate with you! Take a few minutes to check and update the information in your QV72 profile - especially your e-mail address!

In a week or so, we will be sending a test e-mail to every primary e-mail address in the "Classmate Profiles". When you receive it, you will know we can reach you!

Any that are returned "undeliverable" will be researched and hopefully resolved. We don't want to overlook anyone and will certainly attempt to contact all our classmates - one way or another!

AND... if you have the time, click on the "Missing Classmates" menu tab. If you have any way of contacting our missing friends, please reach out and encourage them to add their contact information to our QV72 Classmates page!

"... through the years we'll all remember our days at Valley High!"

Hope to see you in '22!

Thank you to all our classmates who served our country! We just want you all to know we are thinking about you on this Veterans Day!

Sue Harger (Hartford) lost her four year battle with colon cancer last evening. She was an enthusiastic participant in our reunion planning and generously shared her creative talents with us when we produced our memories videos. Please keep her family in prayer as they prepare to say goodbye.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family of William Michael Braxton who passed away on May 8, 2020 at his home in Georgia.

Our classmate, John “Clyde” Pliska, passed away on April 30 in California. May he Rest In Peace.

Our prayers go out to the family and friends of Bill “Kinks” Casterton who passed away suddenly last evening.  (9/1/19) Rest easy, dear friend.

Our friend and classmate Karl Binder passed away last night (11/21/2018) following an extended illness.  May he Rest In Peace.

This is a sad week for our class. We fondly remember Kim Tobias Allman who passed away last evening (Nov . 16) following a long battle with MS.

Our friend and classmate, Mary Taylor Greene, passed away on November 15 following an extended illness.  May she Rest In Peace.

Please take a moment to remember our classmate, Debbie Hilderbrand.  We have just learned that she passed away several years ago.

I am sorry to report that Mark Mullin passed away in his home in Jacksonville, FL on March 15, 2016.

Chip will be missed. He passed away Feburary 3, 2016.

Sadly to report that we lost  another classmate. Joe Reilsono passed away January 17, 2016.

I am sad to report that Debra Jugan Unger passed away Wednesday April 24, 2013.
