Welcome to the Quaker Valley High School Class of 1972 web site!

A message from Tom Horvat:

As a veteran I want to thank all of you who served US while we were enlisted and after we got out. You paid for our meals, military clothing, training, weapons, ammunition, medical, etc. etc. After we reentered civilian life some of us used the G.I. Bill to pay for our education. It's time that veterans thank the taxpayers for their support while we defended.

Greetings classmates!

The 50th Reunion committee is requesting donations to cover a venue downpayment and other necessary planning expenses. The Class has established a secure PayPal account to reduce the chance of donations being lost in the mail.

If you prefer to donate by check, make the check payable to QV Class of '72 and mail to either;

Tom Gerle - 186 S. McCoy Place - Sewickley, PA 15143

Jean Kestner - 8195 Ohio River Blvd. - Pittsburgh, PA 15202

Please understand your donation is a gift to our Class and is not a ticket pre-payment.

We hope you understand the need and are willing and able to help finance our 50th (final?) reunion. Thank you all!

(please let us know if you have any problem using the PayPal link.)

Believe it or not... Planning for our 2022 - 50th reunion has commenced!

Please help us efficiently communicate with you! Take a few minutes to check and update the information in your QV72 profile - especially your e-mail address!

In a week or so, we will be sending a test e-mail to every primary e-mail address in the "Classmate Profiles". When you receive it, you will know we can reach you!

Any that are returned "undeliverable" will be researched and hopefully resolved. We don't want to overlook anyone and will certainly attempt to contact all our classmates - one way or another!

AND... if you have the time, click on the "Missing Classmates" menu tab. If you have any way of contacting our missing friends, please reach out and encourage them to add their contact information to our QV72 Classmates page!

"... through the years we'll all remember our days at Valley High!"

Hope to see you in '22!

Thank you to all our classmates who served our country! We just want you all to know we are thinking about you on this Veterans Day!

Sue Harger (Hartford) lost her four year battle with colon cancer last evening. She was an enthusiastic participant in our reunion planning and generously shared her creative talents with us when we produced our memories videos. Please keep her family in prayer as they prepare to say goodbye.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family of William Michael Braxton who passed away on May 8, 2020 at his home in Georgia.

A message from Tom Horvat:
All my classmates,
Letting you know that I came through triple bypass surgery on October 9 and am home recuperating. A few of you may have known through other communication. Doing well and expect to be back on the trails soon. Through this experience I came up with an idea that I would like the site adminstrator to consider adding to the great web site we have. We have an 'In Memory' page to remember class mates we have lost. What about a 'Survivors' page to honor those in our class who have come through serious medical conditions and are continuing the journey with the rest of us? No specifics, just a name and simple statement of event:cancer, liver disease, heart, etc. What think ye all?

Our classmate, John “Clyde” Pliska, passed away on April 30 in California. May he Rest In Peace.

Our prayers go out to the family and friends of Bill “Kinks” Casterton who passed away suddenly last evening.  (9/1/19) Rest easy, dear friend.

Our friend and classmate Karl Binder passed away last night (11/21/2018) following an extended illness.  May he Rest In Peace.

This is a sad week for our class. We fondly remember Kim Tobias Allman who passed away last evening (Nov . 16) following a long battle with MS.

Our friend and classmate, Mary Taylor Greene, passed away on November 15 following an extended illness.  May she Rest In Peace.

Please take a moment to remember our classmate, Debbie Hilderbrand.  We have just learned that she passed away several years ago.

Please keep in your prayers Ron Perkins who passed away March 19, 2018.

A note from Jim Driesch:  I have been a little late in announcing this but here goes. Our our son & Daughter in law gave us twins a boy & girl two months ago. That’s four under four in that household. Needless to say it has been all hands on to help with the babies, Georgia and Scott. I also posted a picture of Sharon & I in front of a motor coach. That is our new home! Our house in Houston is currently up for sale and we are full time rv’ers. Our goal is travel the USA for the next 5 years, then decide to continue or rving or ??

Congratulations to our own John Munizza who has been named as a 2017 inductee to the QV Sports Hall of Fame. John is being recognized for his over 30 years of work compiling stats and histories of not only QV teams but teams from Sewickley and Leetsdale High Schools prior to the formation of the QV School District. The induction ceremony will take place in September.

We are sad to report that our classmate, Bill Harvey, passed away on November 1 after a year-long battle with cancer.

Our classmate and friend, John William Quinn, lost his battle with cancer on September 30, 2016.  May he rest in peace.

We are sad to report that we have just learned that Michael Polander passed away on September 18, 2016.

I am sorry to report that Mark Mullin passed away in his home in Jacksonville, FL on March 15, 2016.

Chip will be missed. He passed away Feburary 3, 2016.
