Kevin died a hero.  I visited with Coach Nusskern at his home in Colorado shortly after Kevin's death.  Kevin saved a friend's life by pulling him out of a burning car.  Unfortunately, Kevin died during this act of bravery.

David,  thank you for sharing Kevin's bravery with us --  I did not know.    There truly are heroes among us - Kevin's bravery is remarkable - what a fine human being.  ~ maureen

I do remember this story and a sad story it was,  he did die a hero and should always be rememeber as one. My prayers go out to his family.

I was stationed at Ft. Carson near Colorado Springs in '73 when I learned of Kevin's death.  I remember the sobering effect on my life that so soon after graduation one of our classmates had entered eternity.  I remember Kevin's profession of faith in Jesus Christ and his participation in Young Life.  I have been blessed to have the long and full life that I have enjoyed as a Christian, but the Bible says that "to be with Christ is far better", and Kevin has had the far better life.
